MICCA 2007 – Stars at Symphony Hall Part 4
Details
In April, 2007, Foxboro Cable Access volunteers went to Symphony Hall in Boston, and undertook what turned out to be a somewhat monumental task of covering all 17 Music Ensembles at MICCA 2007. The event was taped with 7 independent cameras covering several different angles in Symphony Hall. The result was 50 hours of footage, and the daunting task of editing it down to a cohesive, entertaining day of music at Symphony Hall. After a full year of editing by Foxboro Cable Access volunteers, the entire event is finally ready for viewing.
The Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association (MICCA) is dedicated to the study of music through performance. Creating opportunities for evaluation and expert opinion and feedback to all our participants in a non-competitive setting is our main focus. These festivals include district and state marching festivals, a concert festival, a choral festival, and a solo and ensemble festival. MICCA also offers the music educator a resource through a Task Force as well as sponsoring clinics at the MMEA All-State Conference in March. MICCA has a Commission Works Project underway to provide a resource for the creation of new music in the performance arena accessible to young students. Through our Stars at Symphony program we continue to make outstanding venues like Symphony Hall available to music students of all ages.
